Q. How does the actual bleaching process work?
A: Although the surface of the teeth are porous. Over time, the teeth become stained due to the coloration of certain foods and drinks which enter these pores and causes them to darken. The Hydrogen Peroxide is extremely small in molecular size which makes it easy to penetrate the tooth’s enamel. The ingredients diffuse into the teeth where the active oxygen is produced and the tooth is lightened by the actual conversion of the colored compounds into colorless ones. Q. Can you tell me about the procedure I will be getting today.
A: After filling out the necessary paperwork, we will provide with an oral brush-up to remove any surface barriers. We will find your beginning tooth shade on the guide and record it to compare with after the treatment. We will provide you with all necessary supplies to prepare your mouth and teeth for the whitening. You will paint your teeth with the gel, put your protective glasses on start the machine and relax for 10-15 minutes. We will then ask you to wipe your teeth clean and repeat the process for a second 10-15 minute session. When you are finished we will compare your beginning shade to your new whiter shade. What you will be left with is a whiter smile!
