EpiTouch Alex Laser

The Epitouch Alex laser provides a safe, long-lasting alternative to shaving, plucking, waxing, and electrolysis to remove undesired body hair. Pulsed laser energy targets melanin inside the hair follicle releasing hair without damaging the surrounding skin. A scanner and / or hand piece directs the laser beam through a coat of clear cool gel. Each session lasts 10-30 minutes.

Once the laser is delivered to the skin, a slight pinching sensation may be experienced. This is often compared to the snap of a rubber band, and no localized anesthesia is needed.

Upon completion of a session, the client may experience slight redness to the skin. The redness desolves within a few days. There are no restrictions to activity following an Epitouch treatment, with the exception of limiting sun exposure.

The number of treatments required is dependent on several variables, such as hair color, skin type, and location.

Many people ask us what the true difference is between electrolysis and laser hair removal. Unlike electrolysis, which delivers a small electric current to one follicle at a time and takes several seconds per hair, lasers can zap all the hairs on a woman’s upper lip and chin in 10 minutes and the hairs on a man’s chest in 30 minutes. The laser can zap 10 or 20 hairs a second whereas electrolysis reaches only one hair every 15 or 20 seconds. But like electrolysis, laser hair removal requires multiple treatments—usually six to 10 weeks apart. Some of the hair follicles are capable of withstanding more than one treatment.
